Chandler High School’s Jazz Band performed a special one-night-only gig for the dinner crowd at Pita Jungle on Ray Road on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 6-8PM. We got to sit in on a pre-performance rehearsal and then join them the night of the special event.

Friday morning, November 14: Chandler High’s Jazz Band have been practicing non-stop for their live performance at Pita Jungle. Although any musical group’s rehearsal time can often sound like chaos, when band instructor, Dr. Jeff Quamo asked the group who was ready to rehearse, the musicians were ready to go in an instant, poised and professional, seeming to give their souls to their instruments.

Tuesday evening, November 18: Words cannot describe the amount of soul poured into the musicians’ performance. The aroma of coffee and the chatter of guests, in the midst of Chandler High students playing, it was an outstanding show to watch! It’s truly amazing how music can bring everyone together—laughing, recording, and holding memories. As the saying goes, you have to be there to experience it.  In all, I am hoping to experience Chandler High’s Jazz Band performance more in the coming year.
