Fall is a beloved season by many. It’s a time of year that brings along some of our favorite autumn holidays, cool and breezy weather, and most importantly, pumpkin spiced drinks. There are many excellent restaurants and cafes in Chandler to sit back and enjoy a pumpkin flavored beverage. I reviewed a few spots Chandler High students might like to stop by to get themselves in the fall spirit!

The first eatery our students might want to take a trip to is the Downtown Chandler Cafe and Bakery located in downtown Chandler. This cafe has a wide variety of not only drinks but pastries such as jumbo cinnamon rolls, croissants, cupcakes, and more. However, I can’t discuss this cafe without addressing the topic of their amazing drink selection. Their beverages range from all sorts of caffeinated drinks such as lattes, mochas, frappes, and cappuccinos. This cafe has taken their own spin on fall by incorporating both pumpkin spice and pumpkin pie syrups to add to your drink of choice. I chose to try their pumpkin pie syrup added into a white mocha. The beverage was bursting with fall and pumpkin flavors, balancing the perfect amount of sweetness and coffee taste. Chandler High sophomore Malak Ibrahim commented, “I love pumpkin spice things, and this drink really feels like fall to me.” The syrup was a great edition to a fall line up and can easily upgrade any drink on the menu.

Another restaurant to stop by for fall refreshments is one our Chandler students know and love. Elmer’s Tacos located in Chandler, Arizona has always been a beloved spot known for items like their tacos, burritos, and carne asada fries. Reviews from the Elmer’s Taco’s website read things such as, “The best in AZ!” and, “I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and I’ve never been disappointed.” A common drink Chandler residents and students stop by Elmer’s for is their famous horchata. However, this fall season, Elmer’s has decided to upgrade this popular drink by creating a pumpkin spice version for pumpkin-loving costumers. I think the drink is an amazing take on the classic horchata and adds an amazing fall vibe and flavor to an already delicious drink. The pumpkin horchata is an amazing option to enjoy on the side with an order of tacos or simply by itself. Either way you’re in for a delicious pumpkin spiced treat!

The last pumpkin spice drink I’ll be reviewing is at Chandler High’s very own Java City Coffee. Located next to the main cafeteria entrance and across from the bookstore, it’s an easy and accessible location for our students to enjoy an affordable and refreshing beverage. Our school’s cafe ranges from serving lattes to smoothies to mangonadas. A crowd of students are lined up outside of the cafe every day without fail to get their hands on a delicious drink to enjoy with their lunches. Chandler High sophomore Penelope Beecher said, “I always get drinks here during lunch and I’m excited they have fall options now.” As a special fall treat for the Chandler students, the cafe decided to add a pumpkin pie latte to their drink menu. When I tried it, I was extremely satisfied with this drink. The drink incorporates the perfect amount of sweet pumpkin pie flavor into the coffee, creating a perfect fall sweet treat to enjoy on the way to class. Any Chandler student can drop by during their lunch to try this delicious pumpkin drink and pair it with a meal or snack from the cafe or cafeteria.
Overall, the Chandler area offers many options for pumpkin refreshments and treats that Chandler High students should check out when given the chance. It’s never too late to get into the fall spirit, and everyone should try these delicious drinks before it’s too late!
