On September 28, 2025, global musical artist Bad Bunny was announced as the headline performer for the 2026 Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. The announcement was met with much love and support from his fans and excitement for the representation he’d bring to not only Puerto Rico, but to the Latino community around the world. Fans are also anticipating the possibility of a political statement similar to that of 2025 Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show performer, Kendrick Lamar. Bad Bunny has openly spoken out against recent US ICE raids and backed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
The excitement for Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance has also made its way into Chandler High School. Sophomore Adriena Guevara stated, “I was super excited when they announced Bad Bunny as the performer at the Super Bowl.” Adriena also expressed excitement for increased Latino representation in the show. “I’m just glad that they are including more international artists and representation,” she said. Bad Bunny’s performance is sure to be a highlight of the upcoming Super Bowl and Chandler High can’t wait to watch with the rest of the country.
Bad Bunny was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on March 10, 1994. He grew up around music and enjoyed genres such as reggaeton, salsa, merengue, and rock. He started discovering his musical talents through his local Catholic church choir, and performed with the church until he was 13. He then started to polish his music skills on his own, making beats in his room and free-styling at school. Bad Bunny first shared his music with the world through SoundCloud while he was still a college student. His first big hit came in 2016 with his song “Diles”, which launched the kick off of his career. Bad Bunny solidified his role as a major player in the international music industry with the Grammy nominated single “I Like It”, recorded with rapper Cardi B and reggaeton star J Balvin.
