As autumn sets in at Chandler High School, football takes the field for their season as a fall sport. Alongside them, however, is another remarkably talented group: marching band.

Marching band works 24/7 to create magical music and memories; mornings, nights, weekdays, and weekends are all times you can find marching band practicing to perfect their show. This year, their songs and sets are all following this year’s theme: Forget-Me-Not

Marching Band, similar to many other sports at Chandler, performs not only on the sidelines for football, but they also perform in their very own competitions. September 16th marked their first competition, in which they placed 5th.

While it may appear to be just a strenuous sideline activity, marching band possesses the ability to create captivating memories for viewers of the band and people within the marching band. Many members of marching band can testify to the fact that they’ve created unforgettable memories during their time in band, whether they’ve been playing for four years or just for one. Saxophone player Kailah Johnson stated, “It’s a combination of playing music and being with your friends. You’re playing music with your friends which gives you something to bond over.”

For anyone seeking a way to make great memories while playing music, marching band is the activity for you!

Sophia Medal, Reporter
Sophia Medal is a sophomore in CHS and is a reporter for the news howl. Last year she briefly joined  the wolf howl last year as a guest writer for an article on Boba. Now that she is fully in the wolf howl she can write more articles she is serious about. Like the poor quality of air and water. She was introduced to the newspaper because her 9th grade English teacher saw that she would be a good fit. She took the newspaper course because it was a no-brainer. She likes writing and wanted another elective that sounded fun along with the fact that wants to share her ideas and opinions with people in a unique way so people can understand better. When she graduates she wants to have a career in marketing.
