Three Wolf Howl reporters earn recognition at 2025 AIPA Fall Convention

The Wolf Howl staff took home three awards at the Arizona Interscholastic Press Association Fall Conference on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Arizona State University.

At the 2025 Arizona Interscholastic Press Association Fall Convention held at Arizona State University on Monday, October 27, 2025, Wolf Howl reporters Kiley Jacobson, Ava Pon Peterson, and Ipshita Chowdhury received special recognition for their excellent reporting and photography work during the 2024-2025 school year.

Kiley Jacobson, grade 12, earned honorable mention for her photo taken at the varsity football game against Cesar Chavez in August 2024. You can see her photo here.

Ava Pon Peterson, grade 11, earned honorable mention for her November 2024 feature story, “The Silent Epidemic: The Crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women”. You can read her story here.

Ipshita Chowdhury, grade 12, earned honorable mention for her December 2024 film review, “Knock Knock, It’s Existential Dread: A Review of Scott Beck & Bryan Woods’ Heretic“. You can read her review here.

Kiley Jacobson, Editor-in-Chief

Kiley Jacobson, a senior at Chandler High, is an active student involved in various extracurricular activities. This year, she will serve as the Editor-in-Chief of the Wolf Howl Newspaper while also taking on the role of co-captain of the Swim and Dive Team. Additionally, Kiley is a member of the National Honor Society, a Wolf Crew Leader, and part of the Human Kindness Club. This is Kiley’s third year in the newspaper, and she feels that she has found her passion in this class. After graduating from high school, Kiley plans to study Strategic Communications and Sports Journalism.

Lily Eaton, Editor

Lily Eaton is a junior at Chandler High School and serves as the Features Editor for The Wolf Howl. She enjoys being part of The Wolf Howl because of the relationships she has formed and the incredible opportunities she has experienced. In addition to her work on the publication, Lily plays softball for both her school team and a personal club team. She is also actively involved in FFA. Lily hopes to pursue a career in criminal psychology while continuing her softball career throughout high school and into college. This year she hopes to foster a welcoming environment and improve her leadership skills.
