When a weekly Saturday farmer’s market first popped up in downtown Chandler in 2015, it was only a matter of time before it became a point of pride in our city. Now, only ten years after its first opening, the Downtown Chandler Farmer’s Market has become a beloved and revered staple of the downtown Chandler community and wider city as a whole.
Conveniently located just down the street from Chandler High School, the market is held on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm in Dr. A. J. Chandler Park. This location is a prime place for both buyers and sellers to come together, and share their stories, novelties, and recipes with one another.
Besides the array of pastries and sweets displayed in the tents and booths near the park’s entranceway, there are also plenty of vegetables, greens, and other fresh produce available for sale every week. You can find ready-to-eat food and drink sold in the several food trucks and pickups that are parked just outside of the park, like AZ Lemon Head, where its owner, Katie Israel sells freshly squeezed lemonades flavored however you like, as well as specialty drinks flavored with candy and other treats. Besides selling their lemonades to market-goers, Katie and her partner enjoy the friendly and familiar atmosphere every week.
There are also plenty of non-food businesses at the market as well, such as an arts shop run by Miss Crimson, who works as a ceramics teacher and spends her free time crocheting and painting her own goods. She sells her art at the farmer’s market and usually enjoys the experience, as long as the weather cooperates: “Everyone is super sweet, and I love all the customers, too. It’s just very hot right now, because it’s the middle of Summer.”
The Downtown Chandler Farmer’s Market is open every Saturday 9am to 1pm through October, when it will take a break and re-open in May 2026.
Hope to see you there!
