Looking back on her time at CHS, Taylor Dory, a senior and member of National Honor Society, is thinking a lot about where she came from to get to where she is now.
Taylor explained that tenth grade was a pivotal year for her. “If I could go back to any grade level, it would probably be my sophomore year,” Taylor said. “It’s when I started getting out of my shell and trying new things, and it’s when I really started to enjoy being a student here at Chandler.”
Taylor credited the Chandler High School community with helping her to grow. “I definitely became a much more outgoing and open-minded person after being a part of such a diverse student body who all have their own perspectives and opinions,” she explained.
Taylor’s favorite senior year memory was this year’s prom: “It was so fun being able to see so many people who I’ve known all my life all dressed up and having a great time.”
As Taylor’s high school journey neared its end, she realized the importance of appreciating the moment. “Since becoming a senior, I think I’ve kind of just learned that nothing lasts forever,” Taylor said. “It’s important to cherish the time and opportunities you have now before it’s all over.”
Her advice to the Class of 2026 is similar: “Take a step back to appreciate how far you’ve come. Senior year can definitely be overwhelming, and it’s easy to want to push through to graduation as quickly as possible. You’ve put in so much work to get to where you are now. It’s important to relax and celebrate that a bit!”
