In what proved to be a stunning display conveying a wondrous degree of cultural pride, through numerous decorations, experiences, and interactions, a memorable celebration was sponsored by CHS’s German Club in the courtyard on February 28, 2025. The resounding German spirit harbored here showed itself tenfold through a lunchtime Fasching, or Karneval, held in the heart of the CHS campus.
The festival, which was held just outside the JSU entrance, bedecked the neutral colors in prominent shades of red, yellow, and black. The familiar minimalistic facade was left all but unrecognizable behind numerous tables situated out front. Numerous clothes and games were set up for students and teachers to peruse while passing by. Many people stopped by to play a few of the fun-filled activities set up by their peers. Others enjoyed viewing the decorations and posters and billboards set up, showing off fun facts and interesting points of German history. German language teacher, Mrs. Simone Richert, helped to ensure everything went smoothly and maintained the amazing environment on that sunny day.
The German Carnival was truly an amazing sight to behold, and it demonstrated the hard work and pride of CHS’ German language students, proudly showing off how diverse this school and its attendees truly are.
