Despite releasing almost eight years ago, Fortnite continues to be a game that always finds a way to get bigger and better. Epic Games released its newest update, Chapter 6 Season 2 of Fortnite, and it has become a popular topic of conversation among students at Chandler High School. With new map locations, new and returning weapons, and new gameplay mechanics, this latest chapter has a lot to offer its many fans. Seasoned players Alex Frias and Aaron Doan shared their views on the new season and how their gameplay has been since the new release.
Alex Frias, junior, has mixed feelings on the new season. “I didn’t really enjoy the gameplay, but the skins were cool and so were the new items,” Frias explained. He really likes the new baseball bat weapon as well as a new item that allows players to open vaults without a key. He also thinks the new locations on the map are pretty nice, as they show new sides of the game and may spark interest for people who have never played before.
Aaron Doan, also a junior, appreciates how the new features align with the “heist” theme of the update: “I really like the new weapons and skins, especially how the theme really ties it off,” he said. He also appreciates that these new items make a real difference during battle, including the the med-mist grenade, gold-splash, and Sub-Zero’s Combat Kit. Although he is aware that some players have mixed feelings about the new season, Aaron still finds it enjoyable and refreshing overall.
