Olivia Rodrigo is a record-breaking singer who just dropped her sophomore album, Guts. Is it worth a listen?

This album has already debuted at number one on Billboard’s 200 Albums Chart after only being out a week. Just five days after the album was released, Olivia Rodrigo announced the Guts World Tour. We polled students at Chandler High School to find out how our student body feels.

Most Chandler students who responded to the poll said they are interested in attending her upcoming concert tour, but are worried about getting tickets because of how popular Olivia Rodrigo has become. While hopefully the tickets won’t be as hard to get as Taylor Swift, it will be close to it, as she has very quickly risen to fame with her debut song ‘Drivers License’.

Our poll also asked students to choose their favorite Olivia Rodrigo album. Lily Pond, a sophomore at Chandler High, says, “Sour is more nostalgic than Guts and is a no-skip album, so even though Guts is good, I have to choose Sour.” There were a lot of mixed reviews in the poll but most said they would choose Sour over Guts. However, all said that Guts is an amazing album and has more mature songs which was Olivia’s whole goal with this new album. Aimee Seidel, another sophomore at Chandler High, says, “She’s a rising artist and that’s why she’s so popular.” Most of the other students agreed with this statement.

Overall, we believe Olivia Rodrigo’s new album is one for the history books and the featured songs will surely resonate with many.

Kiley is really interested in ocean exploration and the fact that only 5% of the ocean has been explored when it’s right here on Earth. She hopes to be a teacher or have a job in the journalism field one day. She is a music enthusiast and huge listener of Olivia Rodrigo.
