Clubs at Chandler High

Clubs+at+Chandler+High

High School is a time for students to branch out, meet new people, and find out more about who they are and what they are interested in. According to the Princeton Review, “Your participation in clubs can hone your communication skills, foster creative thinking, and teach you how to work effectively with other people..” Chandler High School has nearly 100 clubs around campus that were created to unite students with common interests or goals.

Vy Truong, a senior at Chandler, is one of the many club members around campus. Currently, she is the president of the Women’s Empowerment Club and Model UN, as well as co-president of the UNICEF Club. Truong believes clubs are important for high school students saying, “ It is an amazing way to make friends and bond over common interests. It takes your mind off the stress of school and pushes you out of your comfort zone.” She chose to originally join the Women’s Empowerment Club and Model UN because of her passion for women’s rights and interest in international politics. She later became president due to her dedication to both. As for UNICEF, Vy founded the Chandler chapter to, “bolster humanitarian work at CHS.”

Clubs truly are an amazing way for students to express themselves and meet others with the same passions. Every year, Chandler High School holds a Club Fair that gives every club a chance to showcase what its purpose is and recruit more members. The 2022 club fair was held through all lunch periods on August 10th and 11th to give everyone time to look and sign up for any clubs they might be interested in. Hopefully, everyone took the opportunity to join and take a look so that  clubs can continue growing and blossoming around campus.
