Under the recent hire of Kliff Kingsbury as the head coach, the Arizona Cardinals have had an extraordinary season thus far. Leading the NFC West with an 8-2 record as of November 16, their success hasn’t been without hardships. The Arizona Republic reported that COVID ravaged the team in the first few weeks they played, with left guard Justin Pugh, defensive tackles Jordan Phillips and Leki Fotu, safety Charles Washington, wide receiver Andy Isabella, running back James Conner, cornerback Robert Alford, right tackle Kelvin Beachum, tight end Darrell Daniels and wide receiver Josh Doctson. However, they now have every player activated and no one on reserve, allowing them to unleash their full potential on upcoming opponents in the coming weeks.
Their most recent 34-10 loss against the Carolina Panthers was simply a fluke, and this defeat is sure to empower the team to decimate the Seahawks, their week 11 opponent. They’re currently at the bottom of NFC West, with the Arizona Cardinals being leagues ahead at the second best team in all of the NFC. This is a staunch difference when compared to last season’s performance, where a measly five wins were achieved. Defensively, this team is completely different from who they were, rallying behind first-round draft pick Isaiah Simmons who currently holds the fourth most forced fumbles in the league (ESPN). Offensively, Kyler Murray, although prone to injury, is the linchpin holding the entire team together. Being picked as the very first player in the 2019 draft, this #1 quarterback has proven himself again and again in the field, thriving under head coach Kliff Kingsbury’s astounding leadership.
The future is extremely promising for the up and coming Arizona team, and it seems fitting to say that the sky’s the limit for these Cardinals. Although it is impossible to say what will happen in the future, it is a safe bet that they will blow past all of their competition on their way to the top due to the dynamite combination of a stellar offense and an insurmountable defense.
