The halls of Chandler High buzzed with excitement as Spirit Week kicked off on Monday, February 24, 2025. Each day brought a new theme, and students went all out to show their school pride.
Monday was “Meme Day,” with students showing off their favorite internet and social media memes.
Tuesday celebrated the number two with “Twin Day.” This day gave students the opportunity to show off their favorite outfit while matching with their person of choice. The theme also gave seniors at Chandler High one last opportunity to match with either their friend or their favorite staff member.
By Wednesday, the campus was filled with students rocking their best dad fit as students dressed down for “Adam Sandler Day.” Even some members of the staff participated, such as Mrs. Kemp, Psychology teacher, who borrowed pieces from her husband’s and son’s closets to show her love for Adam Sandler.
Thursday’s “Emo Day,” let the students of Chandler High rock out in all black. This gave students the opportunity to turn a simple black outfit into something more that spoke to them as emo.
Finally, Friday arrived—“TGIF Day”, where fashion-forward students dressed in their best 1990s and 2000s-themed outfits, from hip-hop to grunge to skater and more.
The week-long celebratory vibes culminated in Friday morning’s Spirit Assembly, where students erupted in cheers for many of Chandler’s music, dance, and performance groups, including APAC, who dazzled us with a scene from their spring musical, “Little Women”, which was showing that week in the Chandler Center for the Arts. With spring season sports teams, musical and dance performances, and high-energy games to shout and clap for, CHS students displayed their happiness for the coming end of the school week and their school pride.
Spirit Weeks at Chandler High have always been about letting students demonstrate their pride for their school and giving us opportunities to show unity and joy with each other, and this memorable week was no different.
